C. William Pollard is Chairman of The ServiceMaster Company. ServiceMaster is the leader in providing supportive management services to over 1,500 health care facilities and 500 educational institutions, 100 industrial and commercial facilities, and a variety of consumer services to over 5.2 million homeowners. It is one of the largest public partnerships listed on the New York Stock Exchange with 52,000 partners and with customer level revenue of ABOUT $4 billion. ServiceMaster has been recognized by Fortune magazine over the past 10 years as the #1 service company among the Fortune 500 and by The Wall Street Journal in its 1989 centennial issue as a "star of the future."
Bill joined ServiceMaster in 1977 and served in a number of leadership positions including Chief Executive Officer from 1983 through 1993. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois, and he received a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. From 1963 through 1972 he was engaged in the practice of law, specializing in corporate finance and tax matters, and from 1972 to 1977 he served on the faculty and as a Vice President of Wheaton College.
In addition to his work at ServiceMaster, he served as a director of Herman Miller, Inc., Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company, and Trammell Crow Company. He also serves as a trustee of Wheaton College, Hospital Research and Educational Trust, The Drucker Foundation, and several other educational and not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Pollard addressed the freedom of individuals to choose and the boundary limitations of freedom based upon his personal faith in Jesus Christ. |
